The charming Cloister of Sant’Agostino and the wonderful gardens of Rocca di Sala will host the Festival Pietrasanta in Concerto 2013, which propose a high prestige program with some of the most important players in the international music scene. Theme of the event will be the family and the talent of great musicians generations.
The International Festival of Chamber Music, now in its seventh edition, was designed by Michael Guttman, violinist and conductor.

Friday 26 July – Mozart in Family (Chiostro)
Duo Lechner Tiempo, Argentinian brother and sister duo Karin Lechner and Sergio Tiempo play together with Natasha Binder, Karin Lechner’s daughter and a 12-year old phenomenon. With the Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, conducted by Toby Hoffman. Mozart: Concerto for 2 pianos / Concerto for 3 pianos / Overture, Clemenza di Tito.
Saturday 27 July – Giovanni Sollima and I Turchini & Antonio Florio (Chiostro)
The renowned cellist and brilliant composer Giovanni Sollima takes baroque music to new heights with the Neapolitan ensemble I Turchini conducted by Antonio Florio. Neapolitan concerts for cello and strings by Leonardo Leo, Giuseppe de Majo, Niccolò Fiorenza, Giovanni Sollima.
Sunday 28 July – Meeting in Salzburg (Chiostro)
Pinchas Zukerman, a living legend of the violin and will perform in a trio with his wife Amanda Forsyth and pianist Angela Cheng, gold medallist in the Arthur Rubinstein Competition. Beethoven, Kodaly and Mendelssohn trios.
Monday 29 July – Carte blanche to Pinchas Zukerman (Chiostro)
Pinchas Zukerman, violin, takes the reins of the stellar I Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, once again joined by his wife and partner Amanda Forsyth on the cello. Concertos from the Bach family (father and son), Vivaldi, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 29.
Tuesday 30 July – Salvatore Accardo, the return of contemporary Paganini (Chiostro)
With the Orchestra da Camera Italiana and its Cremona violins, Italy’s greatest violinist Salvatore Accardo will stage a dialogue between the two biggest families of Italian luthiers, Stradivarius and Guarnerius. The violinists Laura Gorna and Eduard Wilson will also join him onstage. Concertos by Vivaldi, Telemann, and more.
Wednesday 31 July – The Timbre Russian Accordion Group (La Rocca – Piazza)
One of Russia’s most popular accordion ensembles, the Timbre quintet plays world-unique «timbre accordions», designed to sound like symphonic wind instruments that range from low to high pitch. The five virtuosos will play classical and folk music from Russia and beyond.
Friday 2 August – Mario Brunello, the pride of Italy (Chiostro)
Cellist Mario Brunello, Works by Boccherini, Bach, and more. Prelude to the concert by the vocal group Profeti della Quinta, Renaissance music by Salomone Rossi.
Saturday 3 August – The Maisky Trio! (Chiostro)
Mischa Maisky, Russian angel of the cello, Sascha and Lily Maisky form a family trio united by its musical genius. Duos and trios by Beethoven and Shostakovich. Prelude to the concert by the vocal group Profeti della Quinta, Renaissance music by Salomone Rossi
Sunday 4 August – Boris Berezovsky, father and daughter (Chiostro)
Boris Berezovsk introduces his immensely talented daughter Evelyne. Together, they will play a Chopin concerto, in what is sure to be an extremely moving moment. Also featuring the return of the young clarinet prodigy and rising star Dionysis Grammenos. With the Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, conducted by Domenico Pierini. The programme will highlight Polish composers, with pieces by Chopin, Lutoslawski and Wieniawski.
